I am less than two weeks now to an important event and yesterday my throat started burning, fire in the left lower side every time I swallow, constant burn.  Besides honey and lemon, what can I use?

I should know this, but I'm drawing a blank........

I just cannot afford to get sick again right now..........

suggestions welcomed!

Try Cloraseptic spray.  It has an anesthetic in it to numb the pain.  Smiley

Try gargling with salt solution.
Make the water as hot as you can (about 2 -3 fl.oz.) and around a good teaspoon of ordinary salt. Allow the salt to dissolve and the gargle it around the sore area.
Not an instant cure, but the chlorine from the salt will kill any infection. Works for me all the time

I do this too, but i find that sea salt works better for me.  Also, you may be able to kick it and get baetter in that amount of time if you give your immune system a boost.  Try taking some echinacea and vitamin C.  Sage and rosemary should help too, make a tincture and gargle with it.

Catsclaw is an awsome imune system booster also.   Its even a proven cure for lymes disease when taken with echinacea.  It's some  killer shit.

As the saying goes... A spoonful of sugar.

Can't imagine that it would do any harm, but I wouldn't want to vouch for the flaovour mix Smiley

I hear you.  My son is 3 and can't (or won't?) gargle at all yet.  Last week I was giving him oil of oregano to help kill a cold, and that stuff is nasty.  Follow it up with a spoon of honey.  Honey is great for sore throats, coughs, and kids love it.  It can't hurt.
