Number 13

I must say I'm not superstitious when I see 13. I've never skipped anything because it was 13, but something is really bugging me with this number: it's haunting me everywhere I go and I don't know what it means, if it means anything at all.

I was born on the 13th.
I got married on the 13th (and it wasn't planned with that intention).
My son's birth was planned for the 13th, but he was eventually born earlier.
I've lived on house number 13 for almost 10 years.
I've had to take bus 13 for quite a long while to get to my work.
My sets and lists very often unexpectedly result in a total of 13.
I get assigned codes and passwords and they'll have this number 13 in it.
I now live in house with box number 31.
And so on, and so on...

Have you considered that this number is presenting itself, or being presented to you for a reason?  If you play the lottery, have you tried using it?  Have you tried using it in other ways, rather than just noticing it?  Maybe it's the universes way of giving you a message.

An interesting aside.  The superstition of Friday the 13th being unlucky actually comes from the move by King Phillip IV of France, with the help of Pope Clement V, against the Templar Grand Master Jacques de Molay and the rest of the order on Friday the 13th, 1307.

Sophie - I often wonder if we sometimes notice one number more than others, and then it seems like it's popping up more frequently. It's just a theory (which could be all wet).

I've played the lottery allright  Nope   

I'm generally interested in numbers. I like to read number plates for example  I'll start counting, deducing, etc. I also pay attention to house numbers and phone numbers. I think it's interesting.

The number plate of the last car that hit us in a small accident, for example, actually had my complete birth year in it. 

But again, I don't know if it means anything, it's just too weird. Sometimes I'm not even paying attention and then I see that number again, indeed, as if it is calling me...I'll try to use it actively from now on and see what happens.

Fantastic info thankyou River, and I agree, I would go with the thought it could be a message of some kind and Sophie, you like numbers, adding and deducing random numbers that come into vision,?well the 13th card of the major arcana is the Death card, the end of a project and a new beginning, it could be telling you that you need to be walking a different path, maybe get out the rut your in, who knows, maybe it has lead you here.  I would love to work out what your personal tarot cards are, it can tell you alot about yourself.   If your interested pop along to the Tarot section and look under the post SOUL CARD.  it tells you how to work out your sould card number by adding your birthdate, its good fun iof your into numerology as you seem to be.

I was born on the 13th as well. I've always liked the number. When I was a kid, I always thought it was funny that people considered it unlucky. From my perspective, it was my number, therefore very lucky!

You guys covered the Tarot, and the Knight Templar associations, there are also 13 lunar cycles in a year.

I would have to totally agree with Riverwind on this one. You may just have a lucky number slapping you in the face trying to get you to understand that this may be an important number/sign in your life. Try using it in different places other than in the lottery, maby a totally different outcome will come out of the situation.

I think it's possible everyone has their own "significant number". For me, it's the number 23. For some reason, bad things usually happen to me on the 23rd day of the month. I was in a car crash on May 23rd, 2008, my girlfriend broke up with me on the 23rd of August, I met my best friend on the 23rd of October, etc. etc. It may very well be possible that 13 is a significant number for you, but for all I know it could just be an amazing coincidence.

I never thought of 13 as a unlucky number and I am a true beliver that birthdays are to be celebrated to their full extent, number included.
I was born on the 28th and I celebrate the number as lucky to me.
River gave you an amazing suggestion, work your soul number out. I'm sure there's a message waiting for you ;-)))

Hi sophie
The number 13 can be positive in many ways as in there are 12 witches in a coven and the 13th is the high priestess or priest, the one in the centre that guides and iniates the rituals.  The ancient egyptians used to have 13 monthes in their year.  Also in the past there has been much speculation about a 13th sign of the zodiac this would be located at the centre of the zodiac and be a guide or watcher of the other signs.
You may have been the high priestess of a coven in a past life and be destined to become one in this life.  Also you may have an egyptian guide looking after you.  Alternatively yo may need to take centre stage in an area of your life where you are the one leading the way and helping and guiding others.
